Hi there,

I am trying to enable general users(neither admin nor moderator) to edit their own posts, so in the perm.php I made the following change:

//   awc_CanEdit
# Allowed to edit their own post...
$wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['awc_CanEdit']         = true ;
$wgGroupPermissions['*'    ]['awc_CanEdit']         = true ;

When general users login and open their own thread/post, they do see an "Edit" link above the thread/post, but when they click the link, they got an error message that says: "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups *, user.", as you can see in the screen shot.

then I tried to manage the user rights for those users, but I couldn't find "user" from the available groups.

Any idea? My MediaWiki version is 1.12 and AWC Forum version is 2.3

just fixed this, it will be in the 3.2.2 release which should be out with-in the next week. There was also a problem with the 'CanDelete', fixed that also. I would post the changes here, but theres a few files which need editing and 3.2.2 will be out soon. Hope thats ok. take care.

Thank you for the quick response.

At lease I know what to say when my client complains about it.
