Why are you pulling the CSS out of the database? I am thinking about trying 2.5 on a high traffic web site, but I don't want to hammer processes doing database lookups for what should be flat file static content. Let me know, I appreciate your input.

Thanks for showing interest.
I could not agree with you more, this link explains:
http://wiki.anotherwebcom.com/CSS_editing_%28Forum_AdminCP%29

The reason behind the move to the database was for the ease of people customizing there css style, sharing custom styles and forum updates (trying to update a custom flat.css can be a mess).

In time the skin templates will work the same, being able to write them to a flat file, but for now the skins will be in the dbase (one extra query).

Yes, ID=## makes life easier, but since I use forum tag excessively,
for example:
  • on the main page for the relevant categories but I don't want to display all the topics, just lets say only 3 of them. but on another page I might use the forum tag to display all the topics from one thread.

Yes, you do use it excessively
Now i see where the num=## would come in handy for you.

When you say "all the topics from one thread." do you mean 'forum' instead of 'thread' ?

Just uploaded a new version with a few more changes (main post of thread has all changes), and one is just for you.
  1. Added num=## to the forum tag. The AdminCP setting will over-ride this entry.
    Example: If you have your AdminCP setting set to show the maximum of 8 threads and you set the num=9, only 8 threads will show. If you enter num=5 then only five threads will show.

install from 2.4.3. -> 2.5 issue
http://usbvtrisicwww3/cxrwiki/index.php/Special:AWCforum?title=Special:AWCforum&action=install_forum
(Intranet)

The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

I've tried re-installing 2.4.1 -> 2.4.3 -> 2.5 (awc_forum_beta_2.5.rar)

Once I click the "Update to 2.5.3" button then lick the "Install" link, I get the page cannot be displayed.

Thanks for the effort! I manage the Extension:Calendar_(Kenyu73) and just that is a pain to keep up with!

As for the forum structure does it look like this?

Category
forum (threads?)
topics
posts

If yes, then yes.

Can't edit my own post so:

forum tag with num=3 displays the first topic from the right forum, but the other 2 topics are from an other forum with an other id.

Other numbers like num=4 or num=2 or without the num function are fine.
Interesting.

Being an Intranet might be confusing the forum, more then likly all the links in the forum point to an incorrect address.
A quick fix for now, you can edit the following file at line number 65:

/extensions/awc/forums/includes/load/load_forum.php

Look for
define('wiki_url', $wiki_url . $spath );

and change that to:
define('wiki_url', 'http://usbvtrisicwww3/cxrwiki/index.php/Special:AWCforum/' );

Will look into a better way, but that should get you going with out problems.

Ohhh... no i was not thinking that, but it might be possable to create a skin or tag for that... but that will not be for a while. Gonna hold of on adding anything more to 2.5.x. Going to fix any problems which might pop up and finish the Theme and Skins so 2.5.x can be release as a stable release.

humm... just check it and its working for me on my home server and also here.

Cant see why this would happen, but can you check the database table (awc_f_theme_css) and make sure they are in the 'css_att' column ?

Its set up so even is a admin completely clears out the code for any css deceleration the "block head" will still return.

Also you can see if they are listed in the CSS drop down sections 'css_forum_thread_list' and 'css_general'
